Garmin Livescope sonar
Revolutionize your fishing with real-time scanning sonar that lets you see fish, structure, and your bait in incredible detail—exactly as it happens beneath and around your boat.
What is LiveScope?
LiveScope is Garmin’s premier live-scanning sonar technology. Unlike traditional sonar that displays historical data (what you have already passed over), LiveScope provides a “live” video-like feed. Using phased-array transducer technology, it electronically steers the sonar beam, allowing you to watch fish react to your lure in real-time.
Key Viewing Modes
-
Forward Mode: Scans the water in front of your boat, perfect for scouting structure and targeting fish before you reach them.
-
Down Mode: Provides a real-time, high-definition view of what is directly beneath your boat.
-
Perspective Mode: Offers a wide, top-down angle, ideal for shallow-water scouting and covering more area.
Current LiveScope Lineup (2026)
-
LiveScope™ Plus System: The industry standard, featuring the LVS34 transducer and the GLS™ 10 black box. Known for superior target separation, reduced noise, and crystal-clear imagery.
-
LiveScope™ XR System: Designed for anglers who need to see deeper. It uses the LVS62 transducer to provide an extended range of up to 500 feet in freshwater and 350 feet in saltwater.
-
New for 2026 – 360-Degree Integration: Garmin recently unveiled the GT360UHD transducer paired with the motorized Spy™ Pole. This allows for full 360-degree, 2D and 3D imaging around your boat, which can be layered with your LiveScope view for the ultimate situational awareness.
Essential Components for Your Setup
-
Transducer: The LVS34 (standard/Plus) or LVS62 (extended range) is the “eye” of the system.
-
GLS™ 10 Sonar Module (Black Box): This is the processing hub required for all LiveScope functionality; it connects the transducer to your display.
-
Compatible Chartplotter: Ensure your display (such as the GPSMAP® or ECHOMAP™ series) is LiveScope compatible.
-
Network/Power: Requires an Ethernet cable for data transfer to the display and a dedicated power source (highly recommended).
